Hi Tamecia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I created Harvest Time Tax in 2014 as a safe haven to serve my community and provide essential financial education and resources. My journey into tax and accounting began after a job loss, which led me to work as a tax preparer where I initially learned how to prepare returns and navigate tax law.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
While we initially excelled in tax preparation and filing, our seasonal business model (typically four months) presented a challenge in generating year-round revenue and retaining staff. To achieve sustainable growth, we’ve expanded our services to include bookkeeping, tax planning, and other compatible financial services.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I am genuinely driven by helping people. At Harvest Time Tax, we actively connect with and support our community through various initiatives, such as partnering with local high schools and colleges to provide internships. Since childhood, I have desired to be a teacher, and I believe that through Harvest Time Tax, I am fulfilling that dream by helping to educate and jump-start the tax and accounting careers of others.
