Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Buckham-White.
Hi Tia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thank you! I’m really happy to be here. My story really comes down to curiosity. Curiosity about people, about how we lead, and about what it means to show up fully. I spent years in Corporate America, and while I loved the work, I kept noticing a pattern. Organizations invested so much in strategy, technology, and training talent, but the human side often got overlooked. People weren’t always open to being seen, heard, or understood in ways that let them thrive. They also did not do well with feedback, giving it or receiving it.
That’s what sparked Notre Internationale, my Human Experience Management Consultancy. The goal is simple: help people and organizations connect with themselves, with each other, and with the work they do, so leadership and culture aren’t just ideas on a page but lived experiences every day. For me, it’s about creating spaces where curiosity, empathy, and authenticity can flourish alongside performance.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges was bringing ideas like Self-Awareness, Inclusion, and my take on Emotional Intelligence into spaces that were used to doing things a certain way. This also informed how intact teams were developed in organizations. It wasn’t always easy for people to see why human experience mattered so much in the way company cultures were developed.
I’ve learned a lot along the way: leadership starts with self-awareness. You can’t help others grow if you’re not willing to look inward first. I’ve also learned to embrace imperfection, trust the process, and see the ripple effects of small shifts. And the biggest lesson? Growth happens in discomfort, the moments that push you, challenge you, or make you question yourself. Those are the moments that shape you.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Notre Internationale?
At Notre, everything we do revolves around the human experience. We develop leaders, not train them. We engage, advise, shape, and support our clients with their goals, their people, and their leadership development. When organizational leaders see themselves clearly, they connect with their teams and build cultures where people feel included and empowered, which affects their bottom line in a positive direction.
We have many tools in our “suitcase” that we offer our clients. We mix advising, surveying, and assessment, and I’m also a Certified Professional Executive Coach. In addition, I am a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®), which is a tool focused on cultural self-awareness. These are the tools on our “belt” that help us create bespoke programming for our clients. The real work happens when people take those insights and apply them in everyday interactions, decisions, and leadership.
Our mission is to help individuals and organizations show up fully, with authenticity, intention, and purpose. That’s what HXM is about: creating environments where people are developed, not trained, so that they can thrive and meaningful results follow naturally.
