What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The advice I will give Women/ Young women is to not give up on yourself. Even if no one else sees it, your dreams were only given to you to see and it’s going to take you to make them come true. You will have hard times where you are tired and want to give up but those are the times you have to fight the most. Prayer is what kept me and God is who helped me. You are worth making your dreams come true just like your favorite celebrity. Have confidence in yourself and don’t compare your journey with anyone because everyone’s journey have different footprints. Just promise me that yours will be at the finish line.
What else should our readers know about you and your story?
What some don’t know is that I’ve been doing music for eight years. Worked with a lot of influential people in the music industry. I was singing in a girl’s group and was doing our creative direction and styling when people started to really recognize my eye for fashion and I was approached by many to style them. Four years later of wardrobe styling, singing never left my heart. It feels so good to be back doing what I love. People have asked what would I choose if I had to just do one thing and I honestly can say there is no Amy J without Music or Fashion, so I’ll forever do both. I’m currently working on my own clothing line as well.
It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
