Conversations with the Inspiring Arielle Antoinette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Antoinette.

Arielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I first got started with my makeup business after quite a bit of practicing on my friends and family. It was just fun, but I slowly got the hang of it and I was good. Like really good. I’ve always enjoyed the happiness it brings to others. I’ve been consistently working and building a clientele for 8 years now. It hasn’t been the smoothest journey but I’ve remained diligent with every aspect that comes along with it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Has everything gone according to plan, No! Definitely not. I’ve second guessed my self, got discouraged, burnt out. There’s always been a constant battle to get others to take my passion as seriously as I do, but having a strong belief has really helped me. You have to make a plan and see it as clear as the hair on your arms. And run with it! Ever since adapting that mindset from the boss babes around me I’ve expanded in so many ways. My advice to other women, aspiring artists, and current artists is to go after your dreams full force. Don’t let anyone or anything deter you from it. Remain humble and network, it’s not hard to find people that in your corner. You just have to be willing to put yourself out there.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Double A Makeup Artistry story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a traveling Celebrity Makeup Artist. Based out of Atlanta, GA. I specialize in natural, creative and glam makeup applications. As well as brows and lash maintenance. I’m known for clean and FAST makeup applications. I’m most proud of being able to provide fast and skillful needs to all my clients. There’s not a lot of makeup artist out there that can provide that. I like to make sure the experience is calm and easy going. What sets me apart from others is that I can adapt to any situation at hand. I think most times, people let their feelings and emotions get involved with their business. It’s not about that. That’s not why your there. Stay true to the task at hand and get it done!

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I definitely feel that there were experiences growing up that played an outsized role in setting me up for success later in life. As many of us know we cant pick the cards that we’ve been dealt. We have to turn our reality and our hardships into fuel for what we want. As far as my artistry goes I never felt pretty or beautiful growing up. I grew up just barely getting by and only had what I needed to survive and get through school. Growing up with just my mother in the household really was hard, but it also gave me a lot of my mentality now. Nothing is supposed to be given to you. If you want it, you have to figure out how to get it. These two notions alone have given me the drive I need to continuously go after what my heart desires. And I won’t settle for less.
