Conversations with the Inspiring Jessica Bianca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Bianca.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a product of being raised by grandparents as my Mother and Father were working on finding their way. It took me a while to appreciate how blessed I was as I got over my own resentment for not having my parents as I knew they were alive and well. I didn’t look like other kids and had a different style even at a young age and it caused me to doubt my self. My body didn’t fill out even in high school and my grandparents didn’t buy into other kid’s latest fashion and high-end clothing. I remember wearing uniform-style clothing, although nice ones, in middle school, even though they were not mandated. However, I shined in other areas where I could express my self through Dance and Cheer. I learned to them that I could look and feel beautiful when I was doing these things. I even learned a had a nitch for making others feel this beauty within themselves too. After having my own kids, I realized the importance and the favor God had over my life and how blessed I was to have loving grandparents, and vowed to show them the same love they had given me until they both passed and it was the best feeling of gratitude I’ve had to date!

After creating my family, surviving a four year failed marriage and living in my true Sexuality, Makeup has truly been heaven sent saving grace! I learned so much from my clients, poured so much of my self into my craft and am so amazed at the growth I’ve seen in my work! Stepping out into entrepreneurship taught me so much about myself and what I was capable of as a Mom, Wife, Partner, and Therapist! That’s right! Giving back and helping mostly the elderly population through Occupational Therapy is another talent I have! I enjoy being a Therapist and a MUA! And for this area, Tallahassee, I need both to sustain. My Goal is to one day have enough clientele that I can have my own Beauty Salon and do Therapy on the side as it keeps me humble! I’m so excited about the next chapter of my life as I embark on 30 years of life! I hope to offer classes, tutorials, and continue to accentuate beauty one face at a time!

Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest obstacle was my self and how I let other people dictate my reactions and decisions I made. My biggest critic was my now ex-husband. Marrying at an early age was security In a way and also a hindrance. I was admired for submitting but not praised for evolving and changing and may have missed opportunities along the way because of fear of stepping into my greatness. I encourage other young women to not be afraid because others don’t understand where you’re headed or afraid to take that journey or the leap of faith required because of their own insecurities. Understand that having your personal goals and dreams does not make you selfish or inadequate but instead what makes you unique.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am most proud of my technique. It has allowed me to serve more people in a shorter time frame. In a way, it also helps people understand that you don’t need a ton of makeup to feel beautiful. Sometimes, more than often, a little goes a long way. I use products to create a truly natural look. I’m also equipped to give you a Full Glam look of requested and have both options available for booking! My makeup sessions are more than just a session, it’s an experience! I love educating women on good skin care practices rather than just a makeup cover up. I, like many others, want to know “How can I take care of my skin”? I do my best to give each client a tailored assessment when I meet them and what I recommend for them specifically to the type of event we’re getting ready for and the look we’re going for, and how much coverage they may need. Makeup is definitely not a one size fits all!

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Yes, definitely! Most of my success stems from lessons I learned as a child. Emotions I had as a child. Voids I had as a child. Blessings. I learned how to make my self feel how I wanted to feel, not looking for validation from material things or people. A look is a look and if I want it, I’ll create it. A vibe is a vibe, I’m in control of my vibe and the vibes I will accept. I learned that I didn’t fit for a reason. I remembered my grandmother’s words “You do not have to be a product of your environment.”
