Conversations with the Inspiring Kimber Wright

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimber Wright.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been interested in the human body and physical health. From a young age, I played sports and worked out. In college, I majored in Exercise Science, and when I graduated I was not confident in what I wanted to do so I just decided to continue my education. Then, I received my Masters and continued learning about human movement, exercise, and management because I enjoyed it. While at Auburn University, I met the love of my life. He was drafted into the National Football League and I decided to take a break from work to support him. Fast forward to a year ago, we welcomed our first child. I struggled so much after having him. My journey after the baby literally pushed me to my purpose which is physical health.

I started my business “Kimspiration Fitness” in February this year. My goal is to make fitness accessible and realistic for all women. I created programs that are attainable and affordable. My hope is that people can come to my social media page and leave inspired. They will be inspired to workout, inspired to eat better, and inspired to take that first step. I create workouts for the stay-at-home mothers who need a workout regimen that can be completed within their four walls and plans for a grandmother who need mostly functional exercises. Also, I create workout plans for the working woman who only has 30 mins. to sweat it out, to the student who cannot afford to pay $300 per month for personal training.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I dealt with some baby blues a few months after my son was born. I hated the way I looked, I hated how I felt, and I hated the overwhelming feeling of being unaccomplished. As a mom, you desire to be someone who your child can view as a role model. I just did not feel like that. I also wanted to be an example and practice what I preached. I knew there were more to my story but I did not act accordingly. My passion has always been physical health and I was not doing anything with that. So, I decided to just take action! Period. Simple as that. I did not feel ready, I did not feel confident, I did not know all it would take, but I knew I had to take a step anyway. A few months and certification later, I started Kimspiration Fitness. My advice to other women is TO TAKE Action! It does not matter if you feel like it, if you’re ready, if you’re broke, or if you’re depressed…TAKE ACTION. Successful people understand what they feel & their state of mind does not have to line up with what they do. You will begin to notice that you are so dialed into making your dreams happen, that what was holding you back doesn’t seem as important or matters much at all. Do not let your lack of faith, action, and doubt hold you back.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I train all people. However, women are my passion. I am working on getting into some athletic training. I have a huge space in my heart for mothers. I specialize in helping them find their inner strength, their voice, and a body they can be proud of. I understand how hard it is to make working out a priority when you are a mother. I am also confident in the transformation, mentally and physically, that occurs when you make it a priority.

What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
Woman are really dominating in my field. No, it’s not easy, and yes, we have to prove ourselves. However, I think the mentality is to be relentless and embrace uncertainty, this is where our biggest successes are born.
