Conversations with the Inspiring LaCrystal Fulgeon

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaCrystal Fulgeon.

LaCrystal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started LeBombshell accessories after a couple of bad experiences with online Jewelry Boutiques. I thought, “Hey, I can make these!’ So, I did. Others started noticing my creations and suggested, “You should make these to sell!’ So, I did. And thus began Lebombshell Accessories’ “cute as a button” line, featuring unique button earrings on Instagram. Soon, the overwhelming support from my hometown city, ALBANY, GEORGIA catapulted my sales and I began to explore other earring options and styles, and eventually added those to my line. With growing support, ideas and suggestions from family and friends, we now offer customized earrings, necklaces, jewelry sets, bracelets & bangles, men’s lapels, and Home Decor! As of January this year, we also added customized t-shirts and a unique line entitled “MELANIN.” Prayer, putting Jehovah & spiritual things first, and loving family and friends have really pushed Lebombshell to the place it is today!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely NOT been a smooth road. LOL. I have struggled with financing my business at times, personal struggles and obstacles that come with life, doubts, and disappointment from expected support. The toughest being the latter. You’re excited about this new opportunity and venture, and you expect that everyone you know will be as well and that everyone will rally around you. It didn’t happen like that initially for me. I’m not even talking about financial support. You just want people to be happy for you and cheer for you when you are starting out. The truth about it, though, a lot of people won’t be happy for you because you are moving into a new place in life and your focus changes. This change is helpful to you because it exposes people’s true intentions and lets you know that you can’t take those ones into your next season in order to grow. And it’s ok. Life is all about changes and growth. So, my advice to other young women just starting their journey: Don’t let these obstacles or reactions deter you. They are not a reflection of you or your gift. Stand behind yourself and keep pushing forward! It takes time, but it is well worth it in the end. You will look back and be so proud of yourself for overcoming those obstacles and not giving up.

What should we know about LeBombshell? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I do A LOT! Lol! If people can imagine it, they have asked me to customize it. Everyone wants a unique, custom, personalized gift for the special people in their life. So, that’s what I specialize in. I get to know my customers (most of them, I know because they are either repeat customers or family and friends) so that I can get a feel for who they are and what they are looking for and add that special touch. I want my products to stand out so that someone looks at it and says, “Oh, Lebombshell made that!” I’ve customized Jewelry, Men’s tie sets, baby sets, wreaths, wooden baby names, t-shirts, wedding gift sets, home decor, baby shower gifts, Greek items, etc. You name it, I’ve probably been asked to customize it.

As a brand, I am the proudest of my customer service. I strive to make every LEBOMBSHELL experience a memorable and enjoyable experience. Today, you find so often that companies do not care about the customers, just about the money. I want my customers to walk away feeling like that got something unique, affordable, and made with love. I would also have to say that is what sets us apart from others.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
My Mommy. Hands down. And not even from a business standpoint. her personality and attentiveness to the needs of people are things that I emulate and pull into my business. Her support is limitless. I don’t even think she knows half of what I do, but she is excited about it and tells everyone, “My baby can make that!” She believes I can do anything, and she is my superwoman. Also, my Aunt Terry. She is my biggest cheerleader and has always been so supportive! She’s like a second mother to me. There are many more I can name that have poured into me and my vision and support me 100%, but I’m afraid of leaving someone out, so I won’t go down that rabbit hole. LOL. They know who they are and I tell them how much they mean to me all of the time!
