Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Kennedy.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiffany. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I started doing nails when I was 15, in Cleveland, Ohio where hair and nails are a MUST! As soon as I graduated from high school, I went to nail school! Worked in a few salons to find my way and build clientele while building a name for myself in the city that was saturated with nails, I knew I had to do something different. Fast forward to June 2010, Tameka “Tiny” Harris opened a nail bar in Atlanta (Tiny’s Nail Bar) worked there for two years, I’ve also worked with the Nail Guru “Poochiez Nails.” I’m currently working in a salon (Trendsett Beauty Lounge) in Riverdale, GA where I’ve been the last three years. I’m also a Mother to five beautiful children!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I must say that staying focused and having patience is key in building a clientele. There were days I wanted to choose a different career because I wasn’t busy like I thought I should be was basically going to give up on what I loved! I worked seasonal jobs, only to end up recruiting everyone I came across to let do their nails! So I eventually quit and back to nails I went. It wasn’t easy to make the decision to leave a steady paycheck that wasn’t much, to work for myself and make good money but it just wasn’t steady. Eventually, once I got into the salon I’m working at now, I was able to build my clientele and book myself out for months in advance
What should we know about Tiffany Nails? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I do all forms of nail care, specializing in acrylic, nail art, and pedicures.
I’m known for “clean cuticles,” nail art, and crisp shaping.
I’m most proud that I can provide a service, be a listening ear, a motivator, and a professional
What sets me apart from other nail salons or techs is that I treat every client like they are family and I aim to give them what they ask for even if I can’t do it I refer them to the best nail techs
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
As a little girl, my grandmother would always buy the long press nails when my mom only allowed me to wear sports length! That is what sparked my interest.
