Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaya Brown.
Hi Amaya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always liked things to be in a certain order. I can remember constantly reorganizing my closet and always wanting to rearrange my room. I was the type of child who color-coordinated her closet in elementary school just to easily lay out her clothes the night before school. I remember going to a friend’s house at a really young age and literally aspiring to have a bathroom like hers. So I went home and gathered as many bins or containers that I could find and redid my childhood bathroom. When it came to chores, laundry was my thing! I have always loved to wash, fold, and sort clothing, it was my weekly thing to do. Cleaning around the house just came natural to me, of course my mom instilled certain values in myself but I can say I took cleaning and organizing into my own hands and made it my hobby!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I will say the road to reaching this goal was not smooth, however organizing has always come natural to me. You know the saying “What you’re looking for is right in front of you.” Well, I have spent all of my life contemplating what my passion is and what my strengths are without being able to name one thing. Well, I have also spent most of my life reorganizing for spaces or cleaning homes of friends and family. To me this is basic, you know, nothing special, but when I realized that to others this is a valuable skill to have…. the light bulb went off. I find myself to be relaxed when working, I like to evaluate my space and the items that I then need to fill it with. I enjoy this. It took me a while to realize this but I truly feel like the toughest obstacle has been learning to live life for my own happiness and not conforming to social norms and expectations!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional organizer of home and office spaces. I specialize in the reorganization of living rooms, bedrooms, pantries, closets, bathrooms, kitchens, craft areas, garages, and small rooms. I have a niche for visualizing a space, no matter the size and improving its quality by neatly inserting all necessary items including furniture, clothes, toys, bins, games, appliances, accessories, or food. I am known for and currently growing my notoriety for my superior taste in reorganizing and my taste for detail. I am proud that I have made something so important to be a part of my daily life in a way that can help others. I stand out because I confidently walk into any home or office knowing that I will get the job done regardless of the size of the room or the amount of items.
How do you think about happiness?
I am happy to be productive and to learn new things that benefit my life. I am happy when surrounded by like-minded people and by others in which I can learn. I like to make those around me proud and myself and others happy by improving their life, which will overall improve one’s standard of living. Having a clean home and living in a neat space allows peace in the body and provides a sound environment.
