Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Brookins.
Hi Amber, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been drawn to creativity, even before I understood why. Around the age of 13, I taught myself graphic design using just my iPhone. Creating became more than a hobby for me—it became an outlet. It helped me express emotions I didn’t always have the words for and gave me confidence during seasons when I struggled to see my own worth.
As I got older, I began decorating my personal page and sharing my work. Through that, I met other creatives who saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself. Their encouragement helped me realize that my creativity had purpose, which led me to pursue marketing in school. Still, behind the scenes, I was learning how to believe in myself and trust God with my identity.
In 2021, I took a step back to focus on my mental health, growth, and self-reflection. I needed time to mature and to honestly face the parts of myself I had been avoiding. During that same season, my nephew, Charles Porter, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thankfully, it wasn’t cancer, but watching him endure something so heavy changed me deeply. It made me realize how fragile life is and how easily we take time, health, and purpose for granted.
That moment taught me that true strength comes from closeness—closeness to God and to the people we love. I began to understand that when God gives you a gift, He doesn’t do it by accident. Even in my brokenness, fear, and uncertainty, He was still calling me to use what He placed inside me. Creativity became a way for me to heal, to honor God, and to show up for my family in faith.
My story is still being written, but I share it for any young girl struggling with mental health, self-confidence, or identity. Your value doesn’t come from the world, your productivity, or other people’s approval. It comes from who God says you are. Trust Him with your process, give yourself grace, and don’t hide the gifts He’s given you. Sometimes purpose begins quietly—right in the middle of healing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. My journey has been far from smooth. I still struggle with self-confidence and learning not to let my thoughts control me. There have been painful growing seasons—moments where I had to face fear, doubt, and parts of myself that were uncomfortable to confront.
But those experiences shaped me. They pushed me closer to God and taught me that growth isn’t always pretty or easy. I’m learning that confidence doesn’t mean never doubting—it means choosing faith even when doubt is present. Every challenge has reminded me that healing is a process, and grace is just as important as discipline.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love creating aesthetically pleasing visuals and sharing stories through blogging and content creation. Graphic design and social media are my passions, which is why I’m studying marketing. My goal is to use my creativity to help small businesses and companies tell their stories, while also creating safe, inspiring spaces for other women to grow, express themselves, and find confidence in who God says they are.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are the long car rides through the countryside with my mom and sister. My mom would show us the places where she grew up, and during those drives, we’d talk about everything—our dreams, our fears, and the little moments that mattered. Those rides weren’t just about seeing new places; they were about connection, love, and feeling seen. It’s a tradition I hope to carry on with my own kids one day, creating that same space for closeness and conversation.
