Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre DJ-100 Russell.
Hi Andre, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a love for music. Just to lay a quick foundation out, it started by me playing drums developing and discovering who I am. I started from there to diving deeper into the role I am at now. I was a rap artist and from there I started venturing to other areas in music. That’s when one day I was like, hey I want to look into DJ’ing. I gave it a shot and developed a passion for it. I have never looked back ever since. I then started making beats and it all came together and I’ve been rolling ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m glad you ask that. It’s absolutely not a smooth road, it’s not easy. I’ve made a lot of mistakes. I call it growing pains. Practicing my craft, I have my moments, sometimes it’s frustration, you question yourself sometimes, but I have to keep going and never give up. I got too much on the line.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a DJ, the genre I do is EDM, HipHop if not Djing I’m in the studio making Tracks I’ve always wanted to be different. In order to do that, you have to just be yourself.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
