Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Madison.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my first small business, “You Cracked Me Up ” in 2014, selling fresh eggs from my own chickens. As my passion for homemade foods grew. I launched a second venture in 2019: Mrs. M’s HomeMade Baked Goods. I started as a vendor at various farmers markets, sharing my Baked goods with local customers and building a reputation for quality and authenticity. Over the past six years, I’ve dedicated myself to expanding my customer base while forming meaningful relationships within the community. I understand that in the food industry, success depends not only on great products, but also on trust, consistency, and genuine connection. These values continue to guide the growth of my business today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve faced challenges from limited supply and time constraints to unpredictable weather and lack of help. But through hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination, I pushed past every obstacle and grew into the successful entrepreneur I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Mrs. M’s HomeMade Baked Goods has enjoyed a remarkable since it’s launch in 2019. I started with a simple focused menu featuring dark and white chocolate candies filled with nuts, caramel, and peanut butter, along with with dark and white chocolate-dipped pretzels and classic Rice Crispy Treats dipped in dark and white chocolate, and plain varieties.
As I learned more about my customers tastes and the value of offering variety, I expanded my menu with new creations. Decadent chocolate covered Rice Crispy Treats and Pretzels in an array of flavors quickly became customer favorites. I also introduced a line of old-fashioned pies sweet potato, apple, peach, pecan, buttermilk- that added warmth, nostalgic touch to my offerings.
The success of my pies inspired me to expand into a variety of homemade breads as well. These aren’t ordinary loaves-they’re packed with rich flavors and irresistible aromas. My lineup now includes Banana Nut Bread, Zucchini Bread, Chocolate Zucchini Bread, Pumpkin Bread, and several other delicious creations that customers have come to love. What began as a small selection has grown into a beloved assortment of homemade treats that continue to delight my customer base.
One of my proudest accomplishments is becoming the new owner of the Stone Mountain Farmers Market, located at 5135 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain Ga. 30083. In this role, I not only manage and support multiple vendors, but I also continue to participate as a vendor myself.
What truly sets me apart is my faith, determination, and unwavering perseverance. I refuse to accept “no” or entertain the idea that success is out of reach. I make a conscious choice every day to rise above negativity and stay focused on the purpose and passion that drives my journey.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I’m a country girl from Florida, raised on a farm where life was simple, joyful, and full of meaning. My fondest memories come from the years I spent with my grandparents, surrounded by animals, fresh air, farming, and long days of fishing. The lessons they taught me during those early years shaped my character and helped me grow into the loving, caring person I am today.
