Conversations with Ashanti Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashanti Davis.

Hi Ashanti, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started back around 2016. At the time, I was blogging about my outfits as a hobby under the name Lovely Enough XO. Since then, I joined YouTube (search: Ashanti Anika), creating makeup tutorials which has now evolved into me vlogging lifestyle and travel content with my growing family. My husband and I love to travel, so when we do I make an effort to catch it on camera to have something that we and our kids can look back on in the future. I also ended up taking the name Lovely Enough XO and decided to brand it into my online boutique where I provide cute, comfy, and chic clothing options for women looking for effortless, put-together looks.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it. It has been an evolution for sure. I’m always second-guessing myself to find out which route I want to take things. I can be very indecisive, but I’m learning to always give myself grace to make mistakes and I’ll be better for it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
When it comes to YouTube, I create relatable content. I’m being myself and I think people resonate with that. I just became a mom at the end of last year, so I’ve been incorporating that part of my journey as well. I really enjoy looking back on how far I’ve come since starting. My big thing this year is to document everything. Especially since just having my son, I find myself wanting to catch every little moment because time moves so fast.

As far as being a boutique owner, I’m still learning and navigating that territory, but my ultimate goal is to have a brand that provides an experience for my customers and allows them to embrace their unique beauty and style, ultimately growing in self-confidence and empowerment.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I recently read and enjoyed “We Should All Be Millionaires” by Rachel Rodgers; it really helps us as women shift our mindset as far as earning and making more money. When listening to podcasts, I love to listen to Transformation Church’s sermons, as well as “Slay Girl Slay” by Ashley Leggs and “Blessed and Bossed Up” by Tatum Temia.
