Today we’d like to introduce you to Aunt Debb
Aunt, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my love for children when I became a Mother and an Auntie pretty close together. Between raising my children and supporting other children, I became one of Americas favorite Aunties! Always supporting and encouraging has been my reputation for decades. Then, I became a “Grandmother” and ooh how I love it even more! My husband of 42 years and I share 20 beautiful grands! If you know me or have worked with me, you know what the youth mean to me. The Aunt Debb Show has been going for almost 3 years now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part it has been a smooth road. Seeing the awesome accomplishments of our youth brings me joy. The struggles were very minor; mainly dealing with difficult people but I will not let that stop me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I recently retired from USDA after 37 years! I plan on pursuing The Aunt Debb Show full time now. I am known for my interviews that showcase our young Kings & Queens talents, businesses and accomplishments. I have also done “Red Carpet” media at The Black Music Honor Awards, Stellar Awards, BeeTV Awards, New York Fashion Week and many local community events, such as beauty pageants & festivals. I am most proud to have given some of the master minds their first interview and then watch them excel!! I always say “You don’t have to be a star to be on my show but you will always shine!” That sets me apart from most.
Any big plans?
My plans are to continue to shine light on youth with my show. I am very much looking forward to recording in my own studio soon. Stay tuned to see what’s in store for The Aunt Debb show!
