Hi Barkeia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
With over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, I am a professional makeup artist whose journey began as a licensed cosmetologist. Over time, my passion for makeup took center stage. Having a background in drawing from a young age, I view makeup as another form of art, one that enhances and transform.
I began my career as a freelance makeup artist and went on to secure roles within Atlanta’s top premier salons. Eventually, I stepped into entrepreneurship, becoming my own boss and opening a luxury beauty lounge. Today, I specialize in bridal artistry, providing elevated, personalized experiences for both celebrity and everyday clients.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Entrepreneurship is rarely a smooth road, and my journey has been no exception. One of the challenges I’ve faced is navigating periods when clientele was sparse. The most difficult season was during COVID, when I was forced to temporarily shut down my salon while still managing overhead expenses. That time tested my resilience, adaptability, and faith in my vision, but it ultimately strengthened my business.

As a makeup artist and creative, my work is rooted in enhancing natural beauty while delivering a refined, elevated experience. I specialize in luxury bridal artistry, with a strong focus on timeless glam that photographs beautifully and lasts throughout the day. I’m known for my attention to detail, my ability to customize each look to the individual, and for creating a calm, professional environment.
I’m most proud of building a brand rooted in experience, consistency, and trust. Seeing my artistry be part of some of the most meaningful moments in my clients lives, especially on their wedding days, is incredibly fulfilling and continues to drive my passion.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance artistry with professionalism and personalization. My goal is not only to create beautiful makeup, but to deliver an experience that makes my clients feel confident, seen, and unforgettable.
