Today we’d like to introduce you to Belee Kaur
Hi Belee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Of course! My journey as an artist has been anything but straightforward—it’s been filled with highs, lows, and everything in between.
I’ve always been drawn to music, but breaking into the industry was a challenge. Early on, I faced a lot of self-doubt and external skepticism. I struggled with finding my sound, balancing life’s responsibilities, and pushing through moments when it felt like no one was listening. But my love for creating music kept me going.
There were moments of breakthrough—maybe it was the first time a song resonated with an audience, the first big performance, or just a simple message from someone saying my music made them feel something. Those moments reminded me why I started in the first place.
Over time, I honed my craft, learned from my setbacks, and started to build momentum. I found my unique sound, blending infectious dance beats with emotional depth, and I embraced the grind of promoting my music, performing, and evolving as an artist.
There’s still so much more ahead, but every struggle has shaped me into the artist I am today. And at the core of it all is the same passion that started it—creating music that makes people move, feel, and connect.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Struggles of My Musical Journey as a Pop Dance Artist
Music has always been my passion, but my journey as a pop dance artist has been anything but easy. The road to where I am today has been filled with obstacles—self-doubt, financial struggles, industry pressures, and moments where I questioned if this dream was worth chasing. Yet, despite everything, I kept going. This is my story.
The Early Challenges
Like many artists, I started with nothing but a dream and a deep love for music. I remember the late nights practicing in my room, imagining the day I’d perform in front of thousands. But reality hit hard. Breaking into the music industry isn’t just about talent—it requires connections, investment, and relentless determination.
Finances were one of the biggest hurdles. Studio time, equipment, marketing—it all costs money, and as an independent artist, I had to fund everything myself. There were times I had to choose between paying rent and booking a session. I worked odd jobs, sacrificed social outings, and lived on a tight budget just to keep my music alive.
Facing the Industry Realities
Social media became both a blessing and a curse. While it offers exposure, it also comes with pressure to constantly stay relevant. Comparing myself to other artists who seemed to be skyrocketing overnight was mentally exhausting. The algorithms, the need for engagement, the fear of being forgotten—it all became overwhelming.
The Personal Battles
Beyond the industry struggles, there were moments of deep self-doubt. I questioned whether I had what it takes. Was I chasing an impossible dream? Was I wasting my time? There were days when I wanted to give up, especially when the negative voices—both external and internal—became too loud.
Burnout was another major challenge. Pouring my heart and soul into music while dealing with setbacks drained me. I had to learn the hard way that taking breaks doesn’t mean giving up; it means preserving my passion.
The Turning Points
Despite everything, I refused to quit. I reminded myself why I started in the first place. Music isn’t just about fame or success; it’s about self-expression, connection, and impact.
There were moments that reignited my fire—like the first time a fan messaged me saying my song got them through a tough time, or when I finally landed a performance that made all the struggle feel worth it. Those small victories kept me going.
I also learned to surround myself with the right people—mentors, fellow artists, and supporters who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Slowly, I started seeing progress, and every step forward, no matter how small, felt like a triumph.
Where I Am Now
The journey is far from over, but I’ve come a long way. I’m still pushing, still growing, and still learning every day. I’ve embraced the struggles as part of the process, and I know now that every setback is just another step toward something greater.
To any aspiring artist reading this—don’t give up. The path isn’t easy, but if music is truly your passion, keep fighting for it. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but persistence, resilience, and authenticity will take you further than you ever imagined. Your struggles don’t define you—your determination does.
And so, the journey continues…
