Conversations with Brejai Ball

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brejai Ball

Hi Brejai, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started baking when I was 9 years old and I have been baking ever since. I started selling cupcakes in middle school and then continued in high school. My senior year I went to Grayson Technical High School for Culinary Arts and that’s when I started my business Moo Moo’s Delights. After graduating I went to college at Le Cordon Bleu to get my Associates in Baking and Pastries.

I worked for a lot of restaurants such as Scales 925, Da Vinci’s Donuts, Smallcakes and many others. Recently I worked at Nobu as the Jr. Sous Pastry Chef of NOBU Atlanta. Now I have completely dedicated myself to my business building it up and soon in the future opening a small mobile store.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been the easiest but it has been rewarding. Being a business owner is never easy. Attracting loyal and returning customers, and finding your niche in a field that a lot of people are in can take a toll on you. Having to not cut yourself short when things get hard. Remember to keep God first and he will always be there.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Certified Pastry Chef. I graduated from The Le Cordon Bleu in 2017 with my Associate in Baking and Pastry. Junior year of high school I started my business and Senior year I went to a culinary arts school called Grayson technical high school.

I’ve work all over the city as an Assistant Pastry Chef, Store Manager and recently The Jr. Sous Pastry Chef at Nobu Atlanta. Being able to work all over the city learning from all the great chefs has helped mold me into the best pastry chef that I am. I am most proud of myself for not giving up on my dream and always trying.

I am known for my custom buttercream cakes, cookies, tarts and always having the freshest ingredients. I love to try different flavors and recreating recipes. Having a very unique flavor palette has definitely always set me apart from others.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
