Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian O’Connell.
Hi Brian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After wrapping up a decade as a Hollywood stuntman, I moved to the Atlanta area, specifically, Smyrna.
I’ve spent the last 2 decades performing stand-up comedy from coast to coast. I’m known as a clean comedian. My stage name for comedy is Jay Boc.
I’ve recently completed my second book, called “Jesus does Stand-up.” It has led to a ministry to get more people to read more scripture. It has 5 star reviews, and is the only book you will ever read about Jesus, that has scripture and mentions Shrek, The 3 Stooges, and John Lennon.
My first book was called, “Dads Cry Too” it is a true story that tells how a dad deals with the most horrific thing a parent will ever have to face.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In both the movie world and the comedy world, rejection is the biggest hurdle.
As an author, the biggest struggle is getting readers to put their preconceived thoughts about the subject aside for a moment.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In comedy, I’ve set myself apart by being clean. In the past couple of years I’ve focused on churches, senior centers, and rehab facilities.
As an author, I only write about what I know. For Dads Cry Too, I wanted other dads to know that they don’t have to travel their path alone. I’m not a medical professional, just an average guy battling loss each and every day.
Jesus does Stand-up is my way of getting people to look at scripture in a fun way. It has become a ministry of sorts. When I speak to church groups, they get more interested in scripture, almost rejuvenated.

As public as my life has been, I’m a technical hermit. I have a Facebook page under Jay Boc, but you won’t find me on X, Instagram, etc. my YouTube clips are very old.
