Conversations with Brittany And Michael Sherer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany And Michael Sherer.

Hi Brittany and Michael , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Father is 84 years old. He still to this day goes to work every single day. He is the hardest working man I know.
35 years ago he bought some land which was nothing but trees at the time and has turned it into the most beautiful, peaceful place with the most Amazing views. He removed all the trees himself and spent the next several years digging a lake. He is a house mover and builder so he found a small cabin that was in need of renovation and moved it onto the property and made it into something beautiful. We all spent the next several years there as a family and then raising my children there(his grandchildren). I have always dreamed of owning a venue so once I was grown my husband and I talked him into building us a barn so that we could turn the place into a venue so that we could share its beauty with others. My father built that barn over a 4 year period with little help. We couldn’t believe how he did it. Like I said he is 84 and it was just mind blowing to see him out there working on it and it turned out to be more than we ever imagined. There is so much love that has went into this place and it’s such a special place for our family. My husband and I have 5 daughters so it also helped that we knew we are looking at 5 weddings in our future so it definitely seemed like a great investment for us! We are brand new and now open for tours and have some weddings booked already for 2026. We can’t wait to share this piece of heaven with everyone!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Everything comes with struggles but we are so very blessed and we have enjoyed the journey of building this place together as a family. It wouldn’t be as special as it is if it wasn’t for all the hard work and love poured into it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a registered nurse and worked for Wellstar Cobb hospital for 15 years working with moms and babies. I loved my job and my coworkers but after I had my last baby My amazing husband made it happen for me to be able to stay home with her. So now I’m a full time wife and mother and together him and I work our venue. He works for MHC kenworth in Mableton Ga.

What does success mean to you?
I define success in the ability to be happy with your everyday life. Everyday is a gift and it’s important to find joy in all the little things in life.
