Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Alexis.
Hi Casey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story has so many twists and turns, but I have to say it all truly began the day I came to the point where I no longer recognized the person I was created to be. Life had gotten to the point where I was living for everyone else. I wore multiple hats of wife, mom, career woman and I lost myself wearing them all. I was worn out. Coming to that stark realization, I blamed everyone else for the results in my life. I blamed my husband, God, even my children at one point. But, after I did some hardcore self-reflection and finally held myself responsible, I went on a journey of rediscovery. It was on that journey where I truly found myself, but it was a greater version of me.
I am still the wife to an amazing husband, still the mom with an additional plus one we added last year, and the career woman. But I am most importantly a woman who knows her God-given purpose, driven by my gift of storytelling which propels me to live on purpose and without fear!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh heck no, it has not been a smooth ride! But, real change happens when we overcome our struggles.
Throughout that time period, I nearly divorced from my husband almost lost the desire for parenting completely. Battled with depression, anxiety, fear, loss of self-worth, and identity. Losing finances because of poor decision-making. Nearly lost my career because of all of these challenges. It was a mess!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have a career spanning nineteen years in the area of Human Resources and Project Management. I’ve worked in several different industries from Higher Ed, Manufacturing, and presently, digital marketing. I am also a faith-based author who takes readers on revelatory journeys through the life of biblical characters. I also have a podcast entitled Being Eve, which is dedicated to empowering and equipping women through the power of hearing another woman’s story of their struggle to triumph.
I specialize in empowering and equipping people to be the very best version of themselves. It’s mainly why I loved working in Human Resources, specifically in talent acquisition. I have been in the position of changing someone’s life by offering them new opportunities and oftentimes those opportunities were life-changing.
I am most proud of being a comeback kid! Being a woman who lost her way and finding it in ways I never knew were possible and then to have the honor of equipping other women to do the same is mindblowing!
What matters most to you? Why?
Two things, my relationship with Jesus Christ and my family. There’s no way my life would be as it is today without both of these major components in my life. I would not be the person that I am today without the love of God and the love of my family. There are both my anchors in the midst of any of life’s storms. I can overcome anything as long as I have these two pillars.
