Conversations with Casey McNair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey McNair.

Casey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story starts with being raised by good parents in South Atlanta. My mom was mostly a homemaker and my dad a sheriff for Fulton County. Going into my senior year in high school, I would make the biggest and greatest decision of my life that would really start me on my life journey… I gave my life to Jesus. From that point after a few years, I worked a lot in ministry and also worked as a retail supervisor. A few years out of high school, I ran into a guy that I went to high school with and the funny thing is over the years, we ran into each other numerous times. There was definitely some interest in each other, but I had a boyfriend at the time that I had been dating for years… so I just ignored it. Eventually, after running into each other at a restaurant and talking, I asked him if he wanted to have dinner with me and some friends. That night is the night I first started falling in love with him. Long story short we started dating and about 12 months into being boyfriend/girlfriend he was recruited to play professional football in Germany. After being gone about a month, he invited me over to see him and bought me a plane ticket, so I headed to Germany. In this amazing time, we traveled all over Germany and visited to Vienna, Austria and Paris France where he proposed to me on top of the Eiffel Tower.

After helping take his team to the German Bowl and also fracturing his ribs my then we decided that we should head back to the states and pursue a business he had started in college. So upon arriving back to Atlanta, we opened a small office in South Atlanta and started to help individuals start their business. We setup incorporations, LLC’s, 501c3’s, business plans and helped them with acquiring funding, as well as consulting for our clients. The business took off pretty quickly and as of today we have been in business for 20 years in July 2022 and we have helped over 22,000 business through consulting, services or our events. I also have worked in ministry for over 20 years and in 2015 started Godclass. We started by having once a month in-person Bible studies in Atlanta. As of now, we have grown into a nationwide women’s community, Godclass Christian Women’s Community. Our mission is to help women grow in their relationship with Christ and walk in their full purpose. We have Bible studies, classes, -on-1 Christian advisement, videos to watch, and resources such as prayers, workbooks and study guides you can download. I am very thankful for truly walking in my purpose and living a fulfilled life because I love God and serving Him and people through the ministry. I also love assisting my husband and our team with helping small business owners to grow, thrive and make a legacy for their selves and their family. But, my biggest accomplishment is my family. My husband and I have been happily married now for almost 14 years and we have six beautiful children, with one on the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, I don’t think any road is going to be completely smooth in life. But, I am thankful for the hard times because the hard times (if you let it) will teach you and help you to develop endurance and strength… so you come out a better person. Being in business for ourselves for almost 20 years and not ever having a 9-5 job to rely on has had its challenges at times. We have had a lot of success in business, but we have also had some failures. We have made $30,000 in one day and we also have had times where we are asking God how to keep going. Like I always tell people being an entrepreneur has given us freedom to travel frequently, homeschool our kids, make our own schedule, etc… But, it doesn’t give security, as in the security of a paycheck working for someone. We all have to choose which one is more important to us. But, God has been good and in the hard times, He has been there and brought us through. In everything God has never failed us and I know He never will. I am truly thankful for the hard times because it gives me an opportunity to depend on Him and my faith grows even more. This is why I am so passionate about the Lord… He is so real, He is so present, and His love and faithfulness is so amazing.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have two parts to my life and career. I am in ministry and the Overseer of Godclass Christian Women’s Community www.wearegodclass.com and I also am the Community Director for our small business community THESB wwwthesb.com. Within Godclass, I am the ministries overseer. We also have a team with a director of operations, creative director, contributors, and ambassadors. These amazing ladies assist me with teaching Bible studies, 1-on-1 Christian advisement, completing workbooks and study guides and other resources, creating video content, and handling social media. I am very grateful for my team. As mentioned, I am also the Community Director for TheSB, which is under our parent company, The Velocity Company, Inc. Our mission is to build small businesses and help them make more money. We offer small business owners monthly expert lead masterclasses and networking events, a business training library, and discounted service providers to help with their business needs. We are also excited about launching some services within the community starting the summer of 2022. I oversee our staff and make sure I help to keep the community aligned with the company vision. Coincidently, within ministry and business I am overseeing a community… I don’t think this is a coincidence. I believe my strong point is managing a team and helping to keep everything move forward.
