Conversations with Chiara Charles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiara Charles.

Hi Chiara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi guys, currently I’m a social media coordinator/videographer for a prom bridal and brand. But outside of my 9 to 5 I model, make rugs and Creative direct. The job I currently have is a remote job which allows me to travel with the company to different Photoshoot and markets. I actually started out with Modeling for this company and then they decided to hire me corporate, I never knew I would be behind the camera but I sure do love it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a challenging road for me because I’ve been giving most of my time to this 9 to 5 however they are helping me build and grow within this industry. My biggest challenge is spending all day on social media for them and not wanting to open up my own when the time comes. Another struggle that I suffer with is comfortability and consistency, now that I have this 9 to 5 my hunger for my own dreams weakened. But I’m looking at it in a positive light at least I’m getting fed with knowledge and the hunger will always be there.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I hate that I can’t choose both because I’m an employee/professional but also a creative/artist one thing I’m very grateful for is the fact that I’m able to
Merge business and creativity within my personal life and my career. I most part of within my job is starting off on an iPhone to shoot video and now I currently use a Sony a7r I developed skills I never even thought id need. I think the fact that I started it off as a model allows me to know what I need the model to do on camera. In terms of modeling I am able to stand out because of my personality and that I look
Like every gig as a play. It helps me embody whatever prototype they need me to be for their shoot

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory, wow there’s so many but I think packing my suitcases to go on vacation with my family
