Conversations with Cierra Person

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Person.

Hi Cierra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Military Brat from Richmond, Va, but have been lucky enough to call Georgia home for most of my life. I am the oldest of 4, a devoted wife, and mother to the most precious 3 year old. I have achieved 3 degrees with the most recent mastering in Human Resources Management. Since completing my Masters in 2021, I have been working in the federal government as a HR Professional. I have overcame many obstacles.

I have always been someone who figures things out, even when the path isn’t clear. Life has pushed me into wearing a lot of hats balancing family, responsibility, and my career, so resilience became second nature. Along the way, I realized I didn’t just want stability, but I wanted ownership over my time, creativity, and future.

That’s where Resumes by Cierra came in by helping people level up their lives. I was able to take my real-life experience, organization, and eye for detail, turning it into a service that helps others open doors to better jobs and futures.

Recently, I took it a step further. Royal Rose Balloon Company was born. This originated from my love of creating beautiful moments and turning celebrations into something unforgettable. It wasn’t just balloons, but it was me stepping into my creative side and building something that brings joy to other people’s milestones.

I don’t believe in staying stagnant. My story is about growth and evolving, going from surviving to building, from dreaming to owning, and from just getting by to creating impact for my family and my community. This is how I am striving to rewrite my legacy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. I am the daughter to a 3 time Breast Cancer Survivor. It wasn’t easy watching my mom go through what she has gone through but even up to this day she pushes through and gets it done. She is my biggest cheerleader and has always pushed me to new heights. She is the strongest woman I know! One of our biggest accomplishments was obtaining our Bachelors degrees and walking the stage together. I couldn’t have been more proud to be able to experience that with her!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Human Resources Specialist for the Department of Veteran Affairs, specializing in the recruitment of placement of nurses and other medical VA professionals. I am very passionate about my career as I enjoy serving and helping our veterans. I come from a military family so it is something that is near and dear to my heart. Being able to serve those who have fought for our country is my way of giving back.

Working in HR full time motivated me to venture into Resumes by Cierra, helping individuals prepare and tailor strong resumes, cover letters, etc. to land the job of their dreams. With a background in pharmacy and the federal government, I mostly specialize in those two areas, but I have helped others who are looking to work in other industries as well.

Royal Rose Balloons is a recent start up business where I will be offering balloon garlands, centerpieces, and more to those who are looking to elevate their events or special moments, big or small.
