Today we’d like to introduce you to Cordarious Kitchens.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has always been my passion. I remember in the first grade, I would always be in all the schools major events and celebrations – if there was any big “moment”, to be had, I was there in it. Whether it was plays, stage performances with the school choir or my own creative endeavors at the time, feverishly pitching why I should be famous to my teachers who only wanted me to finish the backside of my homework…. I had bigger plans.
I ultimately got my first gig in 2015 when I started Premier 67 as a freelance entrepreneur fresh off a new startup, I was ready to take the world… I was privileged to grow up during the birthing process of what is today’s “social media” and therein thus I built a savvy for how to interact when to interact, when to post and how to make the most out of the “moment”. I started off as a talent manager with an upcoming meet and greet tour called “jam social”, which took the viral personalities and talents from that time and we went on a cross country tour to select states. From my work and acumen there, I was able to secure a role with the company as the new “communications director”. In that role, the window of opportunity opened tremendously and I was introduced to a wide variety of new people that had the same passion and durability as I did working and doing the things we love to do…. it’s no better feeling.
After expanding my network with the tour, I ventured off and did a Segway with the network of artists, Dj’a and executives I amassed from the tour – I have managed acts like DjDiddy, Chase Lucid, DjWav and more. I have also been privileged to be in executive positions where I could really study and detail for detail look at the behind the scenes mechanisms of how not only the music industry works but the marketplace as a whole.
Constantly networking in the great and grand city of Atlanta, I was able to continue to build a network as well as garner my own audience based on the public works I was seen doing whether at a red carpet, a private viewing for an established act and or attending functions such as nationally syndicated events rolling loud or SXSW to name a few, I was more then ready to establish the identity of a company that I created to change the face of music and hopefully the marketplace as a whole… all the way down to the consumer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth journey. When you are destined for greatness, when you want to achieve the extraordinary and establish a secure well-rounded foundation with ANYTHING, there WILL be RESISTANCE.
The majority of the obstacles that one will face, as I did, will be grounding your mental and not being your own worst self-fulfilling prophecy, right? We’ve all been there. Eliminating doubt and all these other voices that naturally conjure up in our moments of action is something that is crucial to your success as it was and still is my own. You ARE that you ARE and whatever is for YOU is for YOU. Believing that you deserve the best and you are the best while doing the WORK with a positive and earnest attitude with yourself and others eliminates the majority of all obstacles simply because of your own “self-security” I call it.
Now of course, you run into variables that have to do with not having enough income or not having or feeling like you don’t have enough support and while I would expound on those things, these pale in comparison to the long term positives that happen everyday as you walk, talk and move through the journey to your purpose. All and all, you ARE your support and money will come out of the abundance of opportunity that awaits when YOU are in position and in alignment in every aspect.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a talent manager and a brand strategist/consultant. I also A&R for multiple artists and Djs as well. I am a strategist to my core and a natural born tactician able to identify and create the most effective ways to bring success to a business or product. I specialize in brand development and creative resourcing. I am known for my artist management endeavors through some of the established acts I have been fortunate to partner with and manage for a time, i.e., DjDiddy, Chase Lucid, etc.
I am most proud of the success and the sturdy grounding I have instilled into my clients and partners as far as mindset and process for long-term success.
What matters most to you?
Authenticity.
Without it, there is no life. There is no substance. There is no fun. There is no point. If you are not or can not be genuinely invested into something, whatever that is, it’s bound to fail. You get half results or no results for simply being half-assed and that has nothing to do with talent or acumen… it’s simply can people trust you to make the best decision and can I trust you to be for me when sometimes it might prove lucrative otherwise. Authenticity equals real value and that I pride myself on the most…. not being a gimmick.
