Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Moore.
Hi Cynthia , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Cynthia Moore, and I’m the COO of Moreworx. I’m also a minister and a mom of three, with a passion for serving others and outreach. Before joining Moreworx, I had a successful corporate career as a high-level leader, but I always felt something was missing. I was drawn to my passion for serving others and making a difference in my community.
My journey to COO began with my daughter, Miya Moore, who is an Attorney, and the Founder and CEO of Moreworx. Moreworx is a nonprofit organization that allows donors to choose a cause important to them and have their gifts matched to vetted individuals and organizations needing assistance in the same area. When Miya came to me with the idea for Moreworx, I was truly inspired by the vision and joined as COO bringing my experience in leadership and management to the organization.
Building a successful nonprofit organization from the ground up is not easy, but I stayed true to my passion, believed in my daughter’s dream, and trusted that this opportunity aligned with God’s plan for me. Through hard work and a deep commitment to the vision, I’ve helped build a successful nonprofit organization that is revolutionizing the way people give.
My journey to becoming COO of Moreworx is a story of dedication, passion, and faith. It shows that with hard work and a willingness to take risks, anyone can make a difference in their community and in the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
While building Moreworx, we faced various challenges that tested our resilience and determination. From securing funding to developing a vetting process we can trust, it is a challenging journey. However, every nonprofit organization faces challenges, and we are determined to overcome them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Minister, Corporate Professional, and now COO, I’ve had a diverse career that has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and expertise. I have served as a leader in churches, bringing my passion for serving others and outreach to the forefront. In the manufacturing industry, I held a high-level leadership position where I honed my skills in operations, management, and strategic planning.
Today, as the COO of Moreworx, I specialize in nonprofit management and operations. I’m responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, developing and implementing strategies to achieve the organization’s goals, and ensuring that the organization is meeting the needs of those it serves.
I’m known for my passion for serving others, my commitment to excellence, and my ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. I am a strategic thinker who is always looking for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.
I’m most proud of the impact that Moreworx has had on the lives of people in need. Through my leadership and dedication, the organization has revolutionized the way people give, allowing donors to choose a cause most important to them and have their gifts matched to vetted individuals and organizations needing assistance in the same area. I’m proud of the impact that Moreworx has had on communities and the lives of those it serves.
What sets me apart from others is my unique combination of skills and experience. My background in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors has given me a unique perspective and a set of skills that are highly valued in the nonprofit world. I am a compassionate leader who is able to inspire and motivate others to achieve their goals. My dedication to service and my commitment to excellence make me a valuable asset to any organization I work with.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Things I like:
Atlanta is a diverse and vibrant city with a strong sense of community.
There is a strong spirit of philanthropy in the Atlanta area, with many individuals and organizations committed to giving back to their communities.
There are many opportunities to collaborate with other nonprofits and community organizations to maximize our impact.
Areas for improvement:
Atlanta, like many cities, faces challenges related to poverty, homelessness, and inequality. There is still much work to be done to address these issues and ensure that all members of the community have access to the resources and support they need.
There can be more support for small and emerging nonprofits, particularly in terms of access to funding and resources.
There is a need for more awareness and education around the importance of giving back and the impact that nonprofit organizations can have in the community.
