Conversations with Dai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dai.

Hi Dai, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I feel like as long as I could remember, I had a certain main character energy. I’ve always been into clothes, makeup, and all things girly, I had watched YouTube for years but never thought in a million years of having my own channel. In all honestly, it stemmed from having a couple’s channel when I really fell in love with it. Even though I was doing the couples channel at the time when I started, I wanted my own where I could create a creative safe space. It has helped me in more ways that I can explain. I’m so happy to have found something I am passionate about and I can be myself.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing is ever a handout over this way! I don’t recall a time where I wasn’t working toward something I wanted. I would say the biggest challenge right now is staying self-motivated. It is easy to get caught up into life. There’s also discouragement and second-guesses as to am I even going in the right direction?

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do a little bit of everything! I wouldn’t want to limit myself by putting myself into a single box. Many people said  “I am…” but I like to say “I do..” So I do YouTube (Day By Dai) which I love and wish I would have started earlier. It has created a personal safe space where I feel free to express myself. Also, I do love taking professional pictures which I’ve picked up again the end of last year 2021. When creating, I have particular visions for my ideas then I try to bring them to life. Creating concepts then finding outfits is such a fun but stressful experience. I also picked up learning skills such as doing my own hair, nails, and makeup. I want to be a jack of all trades!

I take pride and not conforming into a particular niche. I just want to be myself and have the creative freedom to explore that without putting myself in a box.

I’m just proud of myself. Life gets crazy but I still find a way to balance everything in order to chase my dreams. I also love that I never give up on anything easily.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
In my city, I love the culture, music, food. Let’s also talk about the talent!

In my city, I dislike the unnecessary crime, potholes, and the cost of living.
