Conversations with Danielle McDade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle McDade.

Hi Danielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Prior to my recent relocation to Atlanta, I resided as a city girl in St. Louis, MO. Growing up, I felt there were some gaps or gray areas of what my next steps in life were really intended to be; but I knew for a fact I had the ambition and I had the drive to push myself towards my highest potential. Being a first generation graduate in 2020 and receiving my BS in Business Admin has humbled me to really acknowledge my path; sometimes it seemed as if the pressure was on me and now I am understanding why. Family and friends genuinely believed in me overall and knew I could be of value to the next. I have so much to offer and I never hesitate to pour into another because I want to see everyone at their best.

While starting to become more independent, I was always on the search for additional streams of income aside from my salaried job; to cover my personal expenses, leisure activities, and of course vacations. I found myself starting a few e-commerce businesses, really seeing where it could possibly go since I’ve already been exposed to the business industry; through highschool and college. Learning the background of actually managing, branding, upkeeping, and being mentally prepared to run a business has turned to me assisting other entrepreneurs with theirs as well. I can say that I didn’t gain all my knowledge by taking business courses, I actually took time to teach myself how to build that foundation for my business in order to start profiting. Every question I would think of asking a business advisor, I would ask myself first and attempt to find a solution each time. I feel that because everything was not always handed to me when I was younger; it helped me to strive further today.

Eventually I started receiving requests for my assistance for business essentials; like logo designs, business cards, graphics/content, websites, business registration, vendor search, product labels and it goes on….without even realizing I was marketing my own small businesses as a start-up and others needed help with theirs as well. So I must have been doing something right! As we fast forward to today, I am currently still working my salaried job which I plan on departing soon to become a full time entrepreneur. I have prepared myself, but I am still nervous about failing so I’ve been doing my best on keeping faith and staying positive.

With all the support and interest I’ve received, I decided to create a small business community to provide services and resources that were not as available to me when I started my entrepreneurial journey. I have now gained 63+ clients across surrounding areas. I can only say this was a blessing for me as something for fun turned out to be a passion; becoming a source for other potential entrepreneurs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The routes you take will never be perfect. I’ve been through situations where I didn’t think I would see the light but I always kept that faith because I knew I had much to offer and share. Each struggle I faced no matter if it had to do with my finances, who was supporting me, or why my business wasn’t growing as I thought it quickly would. It never stopped me from reevaluating and seeing what’s really working and not working for me. We tend to doubt ourselves a lot but remember to not let anything and or anyone distract you from what’s ahead on your OWN path.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I created a small business community on the Instagram platform to provide resources and services in order to build a working foundation for each business. I specialize in building profitable business and brands using scalable content, marketing strategies, proven systems and processes. I am proud to have gained repeat clients and continue to receive new clients in each city. As my community expands, I have built credibility and trust. This community wasn’t created to make much of a profit but focused on helping individuals become mentally prepared to manage and scale their business.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I am manifesting a long-term goal of building a coworking/creative space in my hometown and Atlanta which will offer many more business services and resources, a way to network with other like minded individuals, workshops etc. Basically a go to spot to handle all things business. This is one of the top industries to be a part of as there’s always room for expansion.
