Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphane Handy.
Hi Daphane, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always say I didn’t really “choose” this path, it kind of chose me. I started off as a videographer, just trying to help my brother film his music videos. That’s really where the spark was lit. From there, I launched my own online TV network called MTM Network, which stood for “Meeting Tomorrow’s Moguls.” I wanted to highlight everyday people doing extraordinary things, especially in our community.
That led me into the branding world. What started as just helping friends with their websites and content turned into a full-blown business, BXD USA. I didn’t have a blueprint, just a lot of faith, a laptop, and a whole lot of late nights. Over time, I built a brand around helping other people build theirs. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, created digital products, ran events, and slowly turned what felt like hustle into a real, sustainable business.
Now, at BXD USA, almost a decade in, I’m telling more stories, and building something bigger than me. And in a true full circle moment, I’m actually in the process of relaunching my TV network—because I truly believe there’s power and purpose in helping people share their stories. It’s all connected.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I’m a single mother who has endured both mental and physical abuse. I’ve had to fight through things that people don’t always see when they look at the highlight reel. I’ve gained money and lost it. I’ve built things from the ground up just to watch them fall apart—and had to start over more times than I can count.
There were moments where I didn’t know how I was going to make it. I’ve been in survival mode while still showing up for my clients, my kids, and trying to keep my own dreams alive. I’ve experienced burnout, disappointment, betrayal, and deep loneliness, even while being “successful.”
And then on top of all that, in 2021 I almost lost my eyesight. That was a wake-up call in every way. It forced me to slow down, get quiet, and lean into God like never before. I had to heal in more ways than one—mentally, physically, spiritually.
It’s been a journey. But through it all, I kept showing up. Even if it was messy. Even if I was scared. Even if I had to rebuild from scratch. Every challenge shaped me—and made me even more committed to helping others build something real for themselves, too.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a brand strategist and creative consultant—but at the core, I’m a storyteller. I help entrepreneurs, influencers, and purpose-driven business owners bring their vision to life through branding, visuals, and messaging that actually connects. Whether someone is just getting started or needs help refining and elevating what they already have, I step in to help them package their gifts and show up confidently online.
I specialize in brand development, web design, content strategy, and helping people get clear on why they do what they do—because once you’re clear on the “why,” the “how” gets a lot easier. People come to me overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to present themselves, and I help them walk away with clarity, confidence, and a brand that truly reflects their story and goals.
I’m probably most known for being able to take someone’s scattered ideas and turn them into a powerful brand with direction and depth. I don’t do cookie-cutter work—everything I create is rooted in the person behind the brand.
What sets me apart is my ability to really see people. I listen deeply, ask the right questions, and pull out the parts of their story they didn’t even realize were important. I’ve lived through a lot, so I approach this work with empathy and real understanding.
What I’m most proud of is not just the logos or websites—but the lives and businesses I’ve helped transform. Watching someone go from unsure and stuck to booked, confident, and aligned with their purpose? That’s what keeps me going.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There’s no way I’d be where I am without the people God placed in my life along the way.
First and foremost, God—literally the center of everything I do. I wouldn’t have made it through half the things I’ve been through without His guidance, grace, and constant reminders that there’s purpose in all of it.
My mom has always been my biggest cheerleader. She’s believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. She’s prayed for me, encouraged me, and reminded me to keep going when things felt heavy. Her faith in me has carried me through more moments than I can count.
My dad passed away when I was 14, but the impact he left on me is lifelong. He showed me what real work ethic looks like. He hustled, he made things happen, and even when times were hard, he kept going. He used to ask me to design his yard sale signs—and would always tell me, “You’ve got a good eye for this stuff.” I hold on to that to this day.
My brother is actually the reason I even picked up a camera. I wanted to help him with his music videos, and in trying to support his dream, I ended up stepping into my own. His creativity lit a fire in me I didn’t even know I had.
And of course, my kids—they are the sweetest reminders of why I do what I do. They celebrate every small win with me, even the ones I overlook. They literally throw me the cutest parties when I hit milestones, and their joy and excitement keep me grounded and grateful. They keep me going in a way that no motivational podcast ever could.
I’ve also had amazing clients and collaborators along the way who trusted me before my brand was fully developed, who referred me, reposted me, and poured into me. Every “yes” helped build this.
So it may be my name on the brand, but this journey has been a collective effort of faith, love, legacy, and support.
