Today we’d like to introduce you to David Gomez.
Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t know where my life was heading as I was in my final year of high school in Chicago, IL I wanted to capture the moment of being sent off to prom so I had professional photos taken and that was the start of it the effect of it gave me a sign to make it a career so I began to continue to build up a portfolio to get out to different agencies and network with others in the industry then came later on I moved back to Houston, TX and took into build my own clothing brand “Fallen Idols” to represent those who influence me to do things that I do today and for others who were influenced to chase what they dream in and am currently in the works with other majors in the business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. I’d be lying if I said all of this was easy even with me chasing my career for 5+ years and still not where I see myself to be; it’s been a long journey I had a very been downfall in the year of 2019 after graduation due to me moving back to my hometown in Houston, TX I had to start a life for the scratch no home, no help, no money, nothing at all everything independent had to figure my life out and fight hard for my spot in my career bumped my head several times dealing with bad business moves, bad timing, opportunities being taken away, and more.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known as a fashion model and entrepreneur what I’m mostly proud of is how consistent I’ve been in my craft and starting my own business things that set me apart from others is my mindset in life and my creativity in my work; everything I do is timeless something that stands out to the people.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve had a lot of bad luck in the beginning of it all but now that I’ve learned more about the field I’ve made smarter business decisions and life decisions I’ve been receiving some sort of good luck.
