Today we’d like to introduce you to Deja Leonni.
Hi Deja, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a strong love and devotion for music. I would take advantage of every opportunity to perform in talent shows and open mics. However, when I turned 17, I saved my money and invested in studio time and music videos. From there, the word really started to get out about who I am and the talent I possess. Since then, I have recorded and released countless songs. At this present moment, I’m working on releasing more,
When it comes to modeling and acting… I began modeling in ATL in the Summer of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. I was able to go home to Chicago and continue as well as begin a small acting career! I have been featured in several movies and more recently just was given a small scene on The Chi!
Now, I am signed with 2 Talent agencies and I am hoping to really get my foot in the door in each avenue.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it hasn’t been a smooth road. If I had a small team behind me to help guide my endeavors, I feel as though things would be a bit easier. However, now that I am signed with the agencies, I am hoping that it will surely help a bit more.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Right now, I have a full plate! I sing/rap, model/act, and even bake! Yes, I am in the process of opening my baking business. It’ll be called Deja’s Designer Desserts.
So I’m a very busy girl but I wouldn’t trade anything I do for a thing. I take pride in having all of those things going on while still thriving in school full-time. I am currently working on obtaining my Master’s degree. I say this with humility, but I believe that might be the thing that sets me apart from others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t attribute any good fortune I’ve received to luck. Rather, I love and believe in God and know for certain I would not be where I am without his favor over my life.
