Conversations with Dré Ali

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dré Ali.

Dré Ali

Hi Dré, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2018, I decided to take matters into my own hands and start an independent record label, with the goal of making and owning my art. Independence is extremely important to me. I believe every artist no matter the discipline deserves their own platform to create freely from. The creation of great art requires independence in some shape or form; for some, it is the foundation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road but being an artist one has to know how to deal with things being unpredictable and trying to find the right outlet can sometimes be a difficult task. The highs and the lows provided by life itself is what make the journey worthwhile. I believe in order to make art that is truly timeless, one must fully embrace how challenging yet amazing life can be. I’d imagine having a “smooth road” without any challenges would leave one unfulfilled, challenges and difficulties along the way can be/are the biggest teachers.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make the best music in the world, I specialize in making the best music the world has ever heard, I am known for making the best music in the world. I am most proud of making the best music in the world. Being the best is what sets me apart from others. So with that being said, I am currently focused on bettering my craft which requires a lot of sacrifice and discipline. Although things may get uncomfortable I often remind myself of the end goal and the satisfaction I will feel when said goal has been reached.

What makes you happy?
Watching National Geographic brings me peace. One of the many ways happiness can be achieved is by staying true to who you are. Once that is realized happiness starts to become a part of who you are. Happiness does not happen by chance but more so by personal choice. Having purpose plays a vital role in happiness as well.
