Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Wallace.
Hi Edward, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello. I’m Edward Wallace but I am also known as Edward Eliesya J Wallace, Actor, Model, Fashion Designer, Business Owner, and Station Manager at Famiglia Doro TV. I have a New Clothing Brand named Edward Eliesya.
My story began in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, NY 1976. Born to Cover Model Cassandra Cunningham & Robert Wallace. I didn’t know I would be a mogul in the making doing all these great talented things. They were just in me from an early age.
Long story short. We moved to NC when I was very young and I was raised there. I moved away because it was a racist environment and I had been sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit. I moved to Fayetteville, NC and life began.
I modeled my custom clothing and then sang for Nikki Minaj’s Iconic Hair Stylist Terrence Davidson opening The Bad Boyz and Girlz of Glam Tour in Fayetteville, NC and my career exploaded after that. I graduated from Inmates to Entrepreneurs by Brian Hamilton and really leveled up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So many obstacles I have faced. Growing up Black in a racist environment, having a criminal record that bars me from employment, and having started over with nothing after being accused of a crime and losing everything, even my name and business in town. I had to move into a shelter after prison.
I was determined and I started Mafanikio African Goods Store 7 days out of prison. I made an app. I signed up 250 ppl on the public bus talking about my business.
I got a job at Chipotle, sold merchandise over the counter, started modeling and designing and here I am. 17 publications and a few shows later.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
