Conversations with Eric Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Williams.

Hi Eric, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve recently just started my journey with my podcast called, “The What Now? Podcast”. This podcast, I speak on topics related to being a gay black, non-binary individual. I feel like this allows me to dive into issues that affect those that are both black and are a part of the LGBTQia+ community (i.e., microaggressions & macroagressions, odd dating experiences, our impact on American culture and more. Along with the podcast, I am glad to announce that I will be a part of Thread Beauty’s University ’22. With being a part of this opportunity, I among other beauty creators will compete in 10-week challenges that will lead to Thread Beauty choosing their top beauty creators to be apart of their upcoming beauty campaign. I’m so excited for this new journey that I’m on with beauty content creation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has NOT been a smooth road. Even though I have these fun and exciting ventures coming up soon, I have to work ten times as hard to get the financial stability needed for me to get to where I want to be. Every day is a new day for me to get to where I want to be. It’s been quite difficult to gain income through my creative endeavors as I’m sure it is the same for my fellow creatives. As my following increases, I do hope to reach the eyes of brands that correlate to my following and my brand. All in all, I do believe that when it’s my time to blast off like a rocket,  I’ll be ready and nothing will get in my way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a content creator here in East Atlanta. On my main Instagram page (@hausofebon) I create a plethora of creative content: makeup looks, movie/tv series reviews, comedic videos, and socially focused content. I am also an Education Specialist where I utilize my content creation skills to not only create gardening-focused online content but also educating youth on gardening topics. Teaching youth how to garden really excites me because it allows me to pass on information that I gained through spending time with my grandmother which is really special to me. So to follow my journey with gardening and teaching youth how to garden you can follow EBLLC, Inc. everywhere at @ebllcinc & @projectgrape. I’m also excited that my first literary work is now available for pre-orders. Sophie’s Garden is a children’s book about Sophie Bilderman learning about gardening, love and true friendship by meeting awesome bug friends and gardeners. To follow Sophie’s journey in his book series, follow her on Instagram at @officialsophiesgarden.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I feel that luck hasn’t really played a role in my life, it’s really been everything that was supposed to happen. I’m currently still finding my way when I comes to my career, however, I do think that I will get to my destination at my specific time.
