Today we’d like to introduce you to Eys.
Hi Eys, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Atlanta in 2010. I attended a performing arts high school where I focused on dance primarily. Dance had always been at the forefront of my creativity, but many people did not know that write and sing as well. It wasn’t until after i graduated from Georgia State University that I began to focus on music. I wrote and recorded my first song in 2016 and just recently released my first EP “In The Meantime” last July.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. There’s always a struggle of finding a balance between always wanting to be better and just enjoying the journey. There’s also a struggle of comparing your path to other creatives and I’ve had to learn to focus on who I am and what I bring to music.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer-songwriter that specializes in R&B and Soul music. I’m most proud of the growth in my artistry and the way I’ve blossomed over the years. I think my mature sound mixed with the sound of today is something that sets me apart from other creatives. I’m heavily influenced by older R&B, Gospel & Jazz music.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think tenacity is the most important quality to have in order to succeed. Being determined can drive you to be focused and consistent with your craft. Consistency is the key to turning yours dreams into fruition.
