Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Adams.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After my football career was over, I went home and tried to work and found out very quickly how depressing not playing football was for me.
I struggled with depression everyday and even contemplated suicide.I have no idea who I was outside the game, so I spent some time in the streets trying to figure it out but I knew one thing for sure that was not the life for me and I was getting out after a few near death experience.
I applied at the fire department I. Durham NC. I moved to Greensboro and I was firefighter in Durham for 3 years.
I then moved to Acworth Ga where I was a fire fighter for 3 yrs in Cobb County Ga.
That’s when I started training and I met my first Speed client. KYLE Bissinger QB at North Cobb high school. Kyle Went on to play LB on the 2006 New England Patriots Super Bowl team. Since then I have trained hundreds of athletes from youth to professional.
My nickname is G.O.A.T. not because I think im the best but because I try to be everyday and my Clients respond.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Becoming more of a business man has been my biggest challenge. I didn’t realize that business has to come first and I was just a trainer doing business.
The two have to be separated and run synonymous.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My specialty is movement. I see things differently than other training.Where I was known as the “Speed” guy I do a lot more than physical now, mentality plays a bigger part.
I see the lack of coordination due to the lack of brain stimulation.
The brains of the athletes today are more sluggish due to overstimulation. So they struggle with focus and decision making.
I’m most proud of my ability to change with the times and continue to get the best from my clients
What makes you happy?
I’m most happy with family and loved ones. I have a big family there is 7 of us and we all have kids with kids.
I think that’s why I love my job so much I love kids and helping them develop confidence and toughness
