Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Moore
Hi Gary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Gary Moore, a well-known entrepreneur and business owner in Atlanta, built his success by recognizing opportunities and strategically expanding his services. His journey began in the early 2000s with a tax office, where he quickly noticed a trend—once people received their tax refunds, many were looking to purchase vehicles. Seizing the opportunity, he started selling cars right outside his office, a decision that soon led to the launch of a full-scale dealership as demand skyrocketed.
Over the years, Gary continued to expand his business empire, offering a wide range of financial services while staying rooted in the community that raised him. Today, he is the CEO of GM CAPITAL SERVICES, overseeing multiple ventures, including GM CAPITAL AUTOS & COLLISION, a thriving auto body and repair shop in College Park, GA. His businesses not only provide valuable services but also contribute to the economic growth of the area, reinforcing his commitment to empowering the community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, the road to success has been anything but smooth. Gary Moore faced his share of challenges, from navigating the ups and downs of the automotive and financial industries to overcoming economic shifts that impacted consumer spending. Building a dealership from the ground up required significant capital, strategic decision-making, and a deep understanding of market trends. There were times when inventory was hard to move, financing options were limited, and unexpected setbacks tested his resilience.
One of the biggest struggles was earning trust in a competitive industry. The auto business, particularly in used car sales and financing, often comes with skepticism from consumers. Gary had to build a reputation for transparency and integrity, ensuring that every client felt confident in their purchases and financial services.
Additionally, scaling multiple businesses while maintaining quality and consistency was a challenge. Expanding into auto body repair with GM CAPITAL AUTOS & COLLISION meant learning new industry standards, managing skilled labor, and keeping up with ever-evolving technology. But through perseverance, adaptability, and a commitment to providing exceptional service, Gary has continued to grow his brand and make a lasting impact in College Park and beyond.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the CEO of GM CAPITAL SERVICES, I oversee a diverse range of businesses specializing in financial solutions, auto sales, and collision repair. Our company provides essential services that help individuals and businesses achieve financial stability, whether through tax preparation, credit repair, or securing vehicle financing.
In addition to financial services, I own GM CAPITAL AUTOS & COLLISION, where we offer high-quality auto sales, body repair, and custom vehicle modifications. We specialize in custom wraps, body kits, and other aesthetic enhancements, allowing our clients to personalize their vehicles to match their style. Whether it’s restoring a car after an accident or transforming it into a unique showpiece, we take pride in our craftsmanship and attention to detail.
What sets us apart is our commitment to trust, integrity, and community impact. We don’t just sell cars or repair vehicles—we build lasting relationships. Many of our clients return year after year because they know we prioritize their best interests. In an industry that often lacks transparency, we focus on honesty, education, and customer satisfaction.
One of my proudest achievements is growing my businesses in College Park, GA, the city where I grew up. Being able to give back to my community, create jobs, and help people improve their financial and personal stability is incredibly fulfilling. My journey started with a tax office and a few cars outside my building, and today, we’ve expanded into multiple industries while keeping our values at the core of everything we do.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Atlanta—and specifically College Park—is the energy, culture, and sense of opportunity. This city has been a huge part of my journey, and it’s a place where entrepreneurs, creatives, and hardworking individuals can truly thrive. Atlanta is a hub for business, entertainment, and innovation, and no matter what industry you’re in, there’s always a chance to grow, network, and build something meaningful. The support within the community is strong, and I’ve been fortunate to see firsthand how people rally behind local businesses and uplift one another.
However, like any growing city, there are challenges. One of the biggest concerns I have is the lack of accessible resources for small business owners and young entrepreneurs. While Atlanta has plenty of opportunities, navigating the system—whether it’s securing funding, finding the right connections, or overcoming bureaucratic hurdles—can be tough for those just starting out. Additionally, crime and infrastructure issues in certain areas make it harder for businesses and residents to feel secure and thrive.
That being said, I believe in being part of the solution. That’s why I’m committed to growing my businesses here, creating jobs, and mentoring others who want to follow a similar path. Atlanta has given me so much, and I want to do my part in making it an even better place for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
