Today we’d like to introduce you to GeekStar Jay
Hi GeekStar, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
i started making music about a year ago. I would record with my friend Faiz who had his studio setup in a closet at the time , it’s funny i still think we made sum crazy songs there. I always had a different flow that i felt like would separate me from other artist but this year I’ve put a lot more effort into perfecting it and I have been having success with it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
at first i guess people didn’t really like my sound i was struggling to get people to listen to the two singles I dropped in 2024. I started stretching my vocals more and expressing my self in different ways so people could feel what I’m saying more. I also started making content for my music so they get a visual for my sound as well. It’s safe to say my hard work has been paying off.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wouldn’t call myself a rapper because i can rap sing or mumble and make a song sound good. I’m an artist i want to have music that everybody can listen to not just rap and not just r&b. I like my music to have touches of different vibes throughout the song so that there’s something that will catch a different listeners ear everytime.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’ve made it to where I’m at now with the help of very few people i don’t have a manger or a promo team or a personal producer. Shoutout to my boy Faiz and my twin Kanen for helping me get my music career started.
