Today we’d like to introduce you to Gisele Gofman.
Hi Gisele, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Connecting worlds through meaningful relationships” — Gisele’s journey from Brazil to the Southeastern U.S.
My name is Gisele, and building bridges between people, businesses, and cultures has always been at the heart of my work. For over 15 years, I worked in marketing and communications for major companies in Brazil, where I led internal and corporate communication strategies and organized impactful B2B and sales events—especially in the insurance and technology sectors.
In February 2024, I took on a new challenge as the Executive Director of the Brazil–U.S. Southeast Chamber of Commerce (BACC-SE). It has been an exciting opportunity to support and foster meaningful business and cultural connections between Brazil and the Southeastern United States.
In parallel with my executive career, I’ve also been dedicated to education. Since 2018, I’ve been a Business and Marketing professor at Underwood University, helping shape the next generation of professionals.
I hold a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Marketing from ESPM in Brazil, but more than titles, what truly drives me is the power of relationships and the opportunities they create.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Living far from my family, learning a new language, and leaving behind a solid career to start over—each of these moments demanded deep resilience. Starting over in a new country is a constant act of courage. But I truly believe that, no matter how hard the process may be, it always strengthens us. Every challenge becomes a lesson, a transformation, and a source of inner strength.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I currently serve as the Executive Director of the Brazil–U.S. Southeast Chamber of Commerce (BACC-SE), a nonprofit organization based in Atlanta that promotes and strengthens commercial, cultural, and professional connections between Brazil and the Southeastern United States.
At BACC, we create spaces for entrepreneurs, executives, and organizations to connect, collaborate, and grow. We host strategic networking events, business workshops, educational programs, and support Brazilian entrepreneurs who want to expand into the U.S. market. One of our missions is to build a strong, supportive business community where people don’t just exchange contacts—they build meaningful partnerships.
In addition to my work with the Chamber, I’ve also been a Business and Marketing professor since 2018, and I’m passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders. My background is in corporate communication and marketing, with over 15 years of experience in the insurance and technology industries in Brazil.
What truly sets me apart is my ability to go beyond ideas—I create, innovate, and execute. I’m a 360-degree professional. While many people have great ideas, I have the skills and discipline to bring them to life. I manage projects from start to finish, ensuring that every action remains true to its purpose. Even when I delegate tasks to my team, I stay close to the process to ensure deadlines are met and quality is never compromised.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to build authentic relationships and create impact through purposeful work. I believe in the power of community, and I see my role as one of connection, empowerment, and transformation—especially for immigrants and small business owners stepping into new markets.
Any big plans?
Looking ahead, I plan to continue expanding the work I’m doing today—connecting people, creating opportunities, and supporting the growth of the Brazilian business community in the U.S. I’m excited about deepening the impact of the BACC and helping more entrepreneurs navigate their journeys.
In addition to that, I’m also planning to explore a more personal dream: starting a business in the bridal event industry. It’s a market that fascinates me—not only because of its beauty and creativity, but because it’s about celebrating love and creating unforgettable moments. With my background in events, communication, and relationship-building, I see a unique opportunity to bring something meaningful and innovative to that space.
