Conversations with Henry Woods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henry Woods.

Hi Henry, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a self-taught digital marketer. I utilized my college and professional experience to create my current full-time role as Marketing Manager for a mid-size law firm based in Washington, DC. From there, I have been able to network and expand my clientele. I have worked with brands such as FizzCandy Jewelry (as seen on Madam Secretary, Vampire Diaries, and more) and Prima Hair Collection by Reality Star Candiace Dillard.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, lol. Managing a full-time position while striving to meet project deadlines, build my brand, and maintain a healthy work life balance is difficult. Staying motivated through it all has been the biggest struggle for me. This struggle can amplify the journey and make it overwhelming as i maneuver through life’s obstacles. However, I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world! It has proven to be an exciting and rewarding experience to partake in altogether.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the co – founder and CEO of The Umbrella Network. I am a Digital Marketer by trade specializing in web development, content strategy, analytics, and all things social. Oftentimes, my talents are used in Product Marketing or Project Management capacities. My innate passion for making an impact sets me apart and my drive is unmatched! I am extremely proud of the continuous effort I make to grow as an entrepreneur – hosting my launch event in the middle of a global pandemic was risky, but the reward has been worthwhile.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I do not necessarily believe in “luck”, I believe good things happen and “bad things” happen; both serve as a test in life. I have been very blessed to live a good life. I know for myself that “life reflects the energy you put into it” so anything not acting in good faith is probably out of my control or was not supposed to happen.
