Today we’d like to introduce you to J.T. Lee.
Hi J.T., we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
J.T. started teaching lessons when he was still in college back in 2010. He was combining his love with Music with his love for mentorship and raising up the next generation of musicians. He spent the next 10 to 15 years working for different lessons, companies, all while learning how to successfully do lessons with students in 2024. He broke off and started his own company Lee Creative Arts, which is centered around using music as an avenue to help shape the character of young men and women. Since he began working on his own, the company has grown to over 200 lessons a month and they’ve added summer camps and workshops for students of all ages as well as 🎸Songwriting 🎸 classes and ensembles for kids to participate in.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No business is ever easy, but when it’s the right move to make doors always seem to open at the last minute right when you need them to. As a whole, some amazing doors have opened with a local private school as well as local churches and other groups that have helped feed students into our company and allowed us to reach more and more kids on a daily basis than we ever thought we could
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
J.T. and his staff at LCA work really hard to teach not only the fundamentals of music but the fundamentals of life through music. They value relationship and character above anything else. Each teacher on staff works really hard with their students to make sure that the kids are not only prepared to perform, but they’re prepared to live a successful life either as a musician or is in some other facet as a professional
What matters most to you? Why?
The thing that matters most to us as a company is that we are seeing not just as another lesson studio, but is a place where kids feel connected and they feel like they’ve learned and grown as people first then as musicians. This passion comes from the fact that J.T. attributes a lot of his success and character to his music teachers growing up. He didn’t always have the greatest examples at home, but he learned a lot for musicians and older people in the industry that were willing to walk with him and teach him what it took to be a successful, businessman and musician.
