Conversations with Jamal Freeman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamal Freeman.

Hi Jamal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I took a cooking class in high school and actually enjoyed it. After I graduated HS, I got a job washing dishes while I was in college. One of the restaurant chefs noticed that I had an interest for the recipes and different dishes so he took me “under his wing” and taught me a lot about the kitchen.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. With covid 19 a lot of people aren’t having events.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I cook southern home-style food with a lil exquisite taste with it. Good food is from the heart. I love to hear comments and reviews about how “the food was so good” or “they got my information from someone”.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’m a people person. I played sports growing up so I always knew how to get along and talk to people. I love doing private couple dinners.
