Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaylan Hoover.
Hi Jaylan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It started with one moment for me to find out that making music was going to be my passion. Beforehand I was always a kid to beat on tables and to freestyle at the lunch table. Me and my oldest brother Joseph AKA (Lilman) was the show stealer; he would make the beat I would instantly take off with the words flowing threw my head. Taking it as a joke, I never saw the potential I had to pursue this gift from my god. Then I got caught cursing in my raps by my momma, and my dad made me promise him that I wouldn’t curse in my raps, and that’s exactly what I did, so I did a talent show during my 11th-grade year of high school at Legacy Charter School. The whole school turned up and bum-rushed me with joy from that moment forward, I forever stuck to my dream of being a rapper. I have now done multiple shows and made some valuable connections.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is never going to be smooth in my opinion. There will always be trials and tribulations on the road to success. I face many when it comes to mental obstacles like the patience it takes to be an artist in such a fast-growing industry. Also, being an independent artist a good budget can be an obstacle for many of us.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
