Today we’d like to introduce you to John Paul Davis.
Hi John Paul, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started d11designz of first as a hobby, I was always very useful on computers and smartphones that one day I started messing around and posted my 1st pic, since then I have grown over 2,100 followers I gained by myself. I now have almost 500 posts in and I’m slowly starting to earn money, that was never my main objective, my main objective was for my family and friends, when I’m gone, my art will live on forever.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a bed of roses, I never paid any promotion companies for followers, one day there’s over 40-50 people like my post, the next day it could be 4-5 people, and when that happens, it does be hard. But what pushes me on is seeing my client’s response to the work I have done for them. I feel it is very important to give back.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work, hmmm I love my (part-time) ‘job’.. when I create a personalized picture for a client the feeling of satisfaction is why I do what I do. I always have been creative since a young age… problem-solving was a daily part of growing up in the area I did. My father passed when I was a teenager, my mom worked so I was left to basically raise my younger brother and sister. That’s what I’m most proud of in my life, that I was always there for my family. The most important thing in life is family.
I differ from others in many ways… I believe in giving back to those without, material items don’t matter to me, as long as I have a legacy in the form of d11designz for my family and friends to look back on and have fond memories of me, then everything I’ve been through, and everything else to come, it has all been worth it. I am proud d11designz and hope to have many more happy days.
What are your plans for the future?
I have new ideas for the new year 2023, without giving too much away at the moment, d11designz will come to life, in the form of framed prints to personalized keyrings. I have ordered stock, including a printer so I have all the tools to make my ‘hobby’ a reality.
