Conversations with Judy Burkle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Judy Burkle.

Hi Judy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 20, I left college to take care of my mother who had a heart condition as she was getting close to the end of her life. After her death, I decided that I wanted to focus on helping people at the end of their life as it wasn’t a great experience for my mom. So I went on to get my undergraduate degree and master’s degree in Social Work and began my 25 years career in hospice and palliative medicine. Fast forward many years and my father needed my care. When I was in my mid-40s, we moved my dad into independent living, then assisted living, and ultimately he died in the hospital. But I was able to navigate this with greater ease due to my experience. I have worked in nursing homes, homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and everything in between. I have seen the struggles (and lived in it real life) of the caregiver. I have seen how caregivers are often thrown into caregiving without notice and have no idea what to do and how the medical community does not provide the support they actually really need. I decided to start this coaching program to help the caregiver have a place to safely vent about their circumstances but also be able to get their questions answered and develop a direction to move in the care of their aging parent.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This is a funny question. No, not a smooth road because building an online business is not easy and takes a lot of time and learning new skills that I did not know!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in working with caregivers who are caring for their aging parents. I have over 25 years of experience as a clinical social worker working with this population. I am most proud of caring for both of my parents until their death as it taught me a lot about life. What sets me apart is The PACT Academy. This is an online membership course that is especially for caregivers to get supported in a way they never have before.

How do you think about happiness?
My family makes me happy…seeing them do the things they love. Being outside in nature makes me happy. Working in my yard and garden definitely makes me happy. I need that every week to feel at peace.

Pricing:

  • The PACT Academy is $997.00
  • VIP Sessions start at $300.00
