Conversations with Julia Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Lewis.

Hi Julia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I was a small child, I developed a passion for skincare, nature, and plants. My parents had a small business where I would help mix up body butters, scented lotions, and shower gels, count inventory, and run the cashier. I was fairly young but the concept of running a business had stuck with me ever since.

My Nana taught me a lot about holistic healing, using and foraging/gardening herbs to use in teas & tinctures. She also gifted me many herbal healing books which I studied on my own that included therapeutic techniques & beauty tips. With all of the knowledge and experience I acquired; learning and witnessing how our bodies heal themselves inside and out just through simple regimens and practices I developed my business outline.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is not an easy route. There were many obstacles along the way. I first began selling my products at my parents’ shop. I was not the best at approaching others, especially with a new product that they were unfamiliar with. But eventually I was able to inform enough people and they enjoyed each of my products. My main obstacle has been perfectionism. If it is not up to my standard, I withhold it until it is.

Also dealing with mental health issues (anxiety, mild depression, etc) along the way, loss of motivation and direction, not having enough funds for my business, and once Covid-19 came about that also affected sales and ability to venture out and network. Even now some days are reaukt with really high sales and other days I won’t make a sale at all.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am literally a guru when it comes to plant based, chemical free beauty products, aromatherapy, and holistic healing. I coined the name Glolita Guru simply because I have witnessed my own products change my life, my skin and boost my self-confidence.

Each of my products are handcrafted and contain ingredients that come directly from the Earth. Mother nature provides a multitude of minerals, vitamins, and healing properties in each plant that our bodies crave for it to replenish its entire being. You can find an abundance of herbal soaps, raw sugar exfoliants, oils, serums, and therapeutic bath blends.

My website is categorized for each skin type so it easier to navigate through and choose the best product for your skin and health condition. From sensitive skin, to oily, acne prone, to feminine health products and more. I feel most accomplished and motivated when I am able to share my gifts with others, opening their minds to a new practice. The Beau-Tea Project is more than just a routine, it is a lifestyle choice because it starts within.

How do you define success?
Success to me is being able to wake up with no baggage or worries, no doubt, fear, or stress. Being surrounded by healthy, like minded individuals that love, support, and motivate you. Having acknowledged the toxic traits and blockages that stunt your growth. Following the path that is divinely designed for your life. Success is having balance and making healthy lifestyle choices. Success is being financially free, able to book a vacation and sip mimosas on a beach. Success is leaving a positive impact on multiple lives, and being able to see apart of you in them.
