Conversations with Justine Blazer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justine Blazer.

Hi Justine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in very music-orientated family. I’ve been studying music my whole life. My mother owned a dance studio for 12 years. I started dance lessons at the age of three and my passion for music grew further from those experiences. I started singing lessons at age five, which lead to many competitions and different opportunities. I received my first paid show at age seven, where I sang at a mall. I continued studying piano, music theory and voice throughout my childhood years. Eventually, it lead to my full-time music career.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have had my share of ups and downs. As a woman music producer, songwriter and artist in a male-dominated field, I have experienced everything from verbal harassment, sexual harassment, being underestimated, doubted and having to constantly prove myself. For every loss and failure, I learned a lesson, which has made the person and artist I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am best known as a multi-award winning artist, #1 on iTunes (USA, Belgium). #1 Amazon Best Sellers, #1 Amazon New Releases, #18 on Billboard, heard and seen on CMT, MTV, TCN and have sync licensing TV placements on Lifetime movies, The Young and the Restless and more. I write, sing, produce, mix and master all my own music. I own my own studio called Ten7Teen Studios in Nashville, TN.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have lots to thank. My husband is my #1 supporter. My mom and sister are major supporters as well. I want to thank my lifelong friend and supporter Patrick Thompson. He has helped so much throughout the years. I want to thank my clients who have trusted me with their music and vision.
