Conversations with Kanisha Seals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kanisha Seals.

Hi Kanisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started EL ROI when my life was in a dark place when I felt like I was at rock bottom and all I could do is find my way back up. I was dealing with so many transitions in my life but still found a way to try and satisfy others when others made me feel invisible. All my life, I felt like an individual who once felt invisible but who did any and everything just to be noticed, seen, acknowledged. So, I started a clothing brand called EL ROI, pronounced “Al-roy-hee” that will allow others who once felt invisible to understand that God sees them and that’s enough. I wanted something that had a meaning behind it but most importantly, connected to God in some kind of way. El Roi is a Hebrew God in the bible who sees all of us, a God of understanding, a God of acceptance, a God of the chosen ones. El Roi started off as a clothing brand but the deeper the meaning the bigger the expansion. As of today, El Roi opened doors for me to not only do clothing but to also become a speaker to also create a youtube channel vlogging my entire life, El Roi has been featured in pop up shops and get so much respect. In the future, I plan to work with so many different artists, entrepreneurs, businesses, networks, communities. I want El Roi to touch the entire world and the people of the world who still feel invisible, just to help them understand that being themselves is just enough.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all, lol but it’s definitely been a blessing to be the owner behind a strong brand. I struggle with time management, networking, creating different products to sale, selling products, the whole business come up is a challenge but I know once I find the key to unlock the first door then I won’t have to keep knocking for help.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a Pre-K school teacher! I love teaching this is my second year teaching. I’ve taught first grade as well as tenth grade. I love teaching because it helps with speaking and I plan to become a speaker one day, someday and someday soon. I love doing whatever I can to help save someone. I love giving advice and mentoring, especially to children who is dealing with things I once dealt with as a kid. I specialize in designing my brand to be top pick eye-catching. I do so much studying, watching videos, reading, finding out what’s trending, websites, promos, practicing, anything pertaining to my brand. I have time for and all the time for it. I also specialize in doing makeup! I love dong makeup, don’t know if I ever will go into business but if the opportunity ever presents itself, I will definitely take on the career. I am known for being the Jack of all trades. I am talented in so many ways so people know me for preaching, mentoring, speaking, dancing, doing hair, makeup, nail tech, clothing brand and my big smile. I am most proud of moving to Atlanta alone with my son with no friends or family coming along and me being able to survive. This is what sets me apart from others, I have a mind and heart of my own. I listen to my intuition, I am not afraid of anything and I love taking on challenges. I believe if you don’t, you’ll never know and what you don’t know won’t help you to grow, so I try to do whatever my heart feels. I’m never afraid to go back, start over, quit, leave, whatever, I love opportunities and I will do anything for EL ROI.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am definitely the risk taker! God always chooses his strongest soldiers for the toughest battles. I’ve been through battles people wouldn’t even believe that I didn’t choose to go through and was very risky. I risk moving here knowing I didn’t know anyone living here but I was willing to strive and try before I just gave up and I’ve been surviving!!!! So most times, you don’t know until the decision is made but never fear or be afraid everything in this world happens for a reason, and that’s how I manage risk taking decisions.
