Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Marie.
Hi Karen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ever since I gave my first Barbie a buzz cut (don’t judge, I’ve come a long way since then), I’ve had a passion for science behind healthy hair. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Alabama A&M University in 2009, I spent a year in Corporate America. Realizing it wasn’t the right fit for me, I moved to Atlanta just a year later to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a Master Cosmetologist!
I’m now a full-time salon owner and stylist, as well as a platform educator for beauty and tech. My long-term goal is to bridge the gap between stylists and clients to foster better understanding between the two as well as training stylist to becoming high-value salon owners and professionals. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey to becoming a stylist in Atlanta definitely hasn’t been a crystal stair but yet rewarding to see how far I’ve come.
Balancing motherhood while striving to be an available, successful stylist and managing a family has been challenging. But over time, you learn to find balance and keep moving forward.
Lastly, With so many talented stylists in Georgia, it’s essential to discover what sets you apart in order to succeed.

I’m a licensed cosmetologist with 15 years of experience, proudly serving clients in Marietta, Georgia. I specialize in silk press services and promoting healthy, thriving hair. My approach combines expert technique with the latest in science and technology to create customized hair care solutions that produce long-lasting results.
How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t just about great hair—it’s about how I make my clients feel, inside and out. I take pride in being more than a stylist; I strive to be a source of support, encouragement, and care. Whether my clients are celebrating life’s highs or navigating its challenges, I’m honored to be there—not just to help them achieve their hair goals, but sometimes their life goals, too. Even if it’s just offering a listening ear, I believe in creating a space where beauty and connection go hand in hand.
