Conversations with Karim Reslan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karim Reslan.

Hi Karim, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a Middle-Eastern North African who comes from a war background, I was 15 years old when I started my music career in 2017 after moving from Lebanon to the United Arab Emirates with a guitar in hand. I started by gathering people around town in parks and doing free shows of covers where people and friends would sing along and enjoy. Later on, I started doing shows in venues and opening up for bigger artists in the city, later on I founded my own independent record label where I gave myself and other independent artists a chance to stand out from the crowd, landing on official Spotify playlists, Apple Music sponsorships where they put me on the official browser banner, R&B Now playlist and New Music Daily, increasing my fanbase in which Atlanta was showing me most love according to my statistics. I am currently 20 years old with an overall reach of 1.5M+ streams on music platforms which landed me on articles such as Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B and MarketWatch. I’m currently working on a music video and dropping the latest teasers on my Instagram page @karimreslan.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Until now, I would say being an Artist in a fast-moving world is not a smooth road to take, but that is what keeps me motivated and hopeful. Coming from a broken household, no job security, betrayal from friends, and mental health struggles have been in the way of my career but I try my best to dodge them and focus on my mission of becoming a full-time performing artist in big concerts, that is the dream I believe I have to accomplish.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Melodic-Trap R&B artist. My various genre interests inspired me to create experimental unique sounds, I then happened to expand my fanbase and promote my music worldwide. I’m currently working with the Juno Award-Winning Producer Rich Kidd and planning the next release with Business Manager Royalz. I’m proud of myself as a musician who was able to achieve all that I have accomplished independently, pushing myself every day to create a new sound. My latest single performed well in the states that I’m creating a music video to mainly target Atlanta as they pushed my sound the most.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Apart from peace of mind, what truly makes me happy is seeing my fanbase happy with the projects I’m making since it is my goal to please my fanbase and relate to them as much as they relate to my music. It really motivates me to see others happy about what they are listening to when it comes to my music.
