Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Jenkins.
Hi Kendall, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved makeup since I was five years old. I started taking my passion for makeup seriously when I was 16 years old in high school. I used to do my classmate’s eyebrows and eyeshadow in the bathroom before class. Once taking a cosmetology course I started to practice outside of school. I worked and perfected my craft enough to charge and accept clients in my area by promoting my work on social media. I worked out of my grandmother’s living room which became to grow so much traffic that she converted an additional room in our house for me to accept clients for four years. In 2020 I moved into my first salon booth and began to get more clientele which is when I began to come interested in being a hair stylist. With a lot of practice and patience, I was able to self-teach myself how to do wig installs, sew-ins, wig customizations, and custom colors. As of 2023, I currently am a private-based 23-year-old Free Lace Makeup Artist and Weaving Stylist that services girls all over Mobile, AL and surrounding areas.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it was definitely not easy. Having your own business doesn’t automatically mean you have everything figured out. There are ups and downs and a lot of sacrifices made. I’ve had moments where I wanted to quit and felt like my work wasn’t good enough compared to others. But staying positive and having faith will get you through a lot of tribulations.

I am a freelance makeup artist and weaving hair stylist. I specialize in natural glam and soft makeup looks. I also install and custom-colorize all types of wigs and weave pieces.
